I began working at RUMC as a brand ambassador, but quickly became a marketing coordinator after about a month of working. A huge part of my job is to be knowledgeable about Rush and the different locations and services they offer, and to promote these services and locations in hopes of increasing patient volumes. The other large portion of my job is events and outreach, both internal and external. Internal events include events like thanking frontline health workers, whereas external events are aimed at the community and potential patients of RUMC.
My experience at RUMC has been extraordinarily valuable, especially since most of my time working here has been in the midst of a pandemic. Because the primary focus of my job is events and outreach, I had to keep my job relevant in a post-pandemic world, which involved a lot of challenges, but ultimately vastly improved my problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
